A Bimbo's Viewpoint on the highly charged 'Blonde Marriage' debate

Linda Strawberry outlines her viewpoint on the controversial subject of blonde marriage that has recently taken hold of the public discourse.

I believe that if we let people with Blonde hair get married it will cheapen the value of our non-blonde marriages. I define marriage to be between two non-blonde people. But don’t call me blonde-aphobic. I have a friend or two with blonde hair. I sometimes watch shows with people with blonde hair like Ellen. I just don’t think blonde haired marriages are moral
.

Many of you may be surprised to find out that I agree wholeheartedly with this viewpoint. Civil unions are more than enough, marriage is a religious institution and should be kept out of civil law entirely. I don't care what dark-haired people get up to in their religious enclaves, but the Constitution firmly guarantees a separation of Church and State. Let's keep it that way.

It's only because the dark-haired people controlled the early State that marriage and public law became so co-mingled. I know I'm a bit out there in my belief about this, but between the dark-haired people's desire to enshrine marriage in law and the deluded blonde's desire to mimic the poor dark-haired people who have been in control of the entire framework of society for too long, I think they are both fighting for the wrong thing.

I believe marriage should be removed from civil law entirely and not pollute it. Justices of the peace should only be able to perform civil unions for blondes and non-blondes alike and priests and the religious can have their marriages to themselves. I think it's a pity that so many blondes wish to ape their dark-haired counterparts, relinquishing their position as the people who push the boundaries of culture, breaking the molds of intolerance built into our society by the emotionally crippled dark-haired. We blondes embrace diversity and are accepting of all, regardless of their hair-color and fashion-sense.

This will serve both blondes and non-blondes admirably. The dark-haired and their regressive churches that refuse to marry blondes can keep to themselves, the churches that celebrate hair-color rights and diversity and allow them to marry may choose to do so, and everyone wins when old fashioned religious notions are removed from ensconcement in civil law.

Seeking marriage for all is a vane attempt by the blondes to achieve "equality" with the dark-haired people when, in fact, they are superior in every way. I call upon the other blondes to shake off the shackles of cultural convention and leave the dark-haired people and their quaint notions of marriage to molder with their rapidly obsolete non-light hair colors.

Blondes are happier, freer people when they are acting the most blonde. We lack the brooding, overly intellectualized and easily emotionally upset stereotype that haunts the dark-haired people. The poor, misbegotten people that go to ever darker haircolors with their 'Goth' and 'Emo' lifestyles and clothing especially need our acceptance. These people choose to ostracize themselves from even regular, dark-haired culture in an attempt to show their 'non-conformity' by coloring their hair black and dressing all in black like the other 'non-conformists'. They can't break away from their 'non-conformist' mold long enough to see that they have merely established another sub-culture that demands conformity to its conventions for full admittance and to be seen as 'one of them.'

Many of my friends are Goth and they have accepted me into their midst. I am truly grateful for that. They understand and appreciate oppression by the majority of the dark-haired culture, for they too have been rejected by 'mainstream' dark-hair culture. I fit in well there, they never prejudge me for not having dark-hair and all I need to do is show a bit of solidarity by wearing 'Gothy' clothing. And who doesn't enjoy 'walking on the wild-side' a little by wearing really 'out there' Goth clothing and it's taboo-pushing fetish styles. We blondes are often seen as overly sexualized and fetish ourselves.

Blondes are accepting and tolerant of many people with different hair-colors, welcoming them into our cultural refuges when we are denied entry into theirs. Our pride in our blondeness is evident with our very flamboyant Blonde Pride parades where even the dark-haired come to celebrate blondeness with us. And the acronym BDPR (Blonde, Dirty-Blonde, Platinum, and Redhead) has made it into the mainstream cultural landscape.

The poor redheads aren't mentioned much even by us, but they truly are the 'redheaded step-children' of society. Blondes have gained great cultural acceptance, able to hold hands and kiss in public for example, and many popular sitcoms now have a 'token blonde' to be the butt of stereotypical jokes. Whereas redheads are still mostly looked upon as rare 'freaks of nature'. Many comedians have dressed as redheads for a cheap laugh, but drag redhead performers like Bozo and Ronald McDonald have begun to open inroads into mainstream culture. But they are still laughed at and snickered at behind their backs as 'over the top' with their highly stylized makeup.

Only the foolishly serious, dark-haired people need marriage because that's they only way they can get regular sex - everyone wants to party and have fun with the blondes, not them. Marriage is only a trap created by the dark-haired people to capture a blonde and keep them captive so they can have regular sex with one of us. Keep the blondes free where they belong.

Even when married, the dark-haired people often sneak away from their partner to have illicit affairs with blondes. Many public figures have been caught with their pants down with blondes and their political careers have died because of it. Going so far as to hire blonde escorts or having frantic sex with a blonde in a dirty, public bathroom to avoid being seen as 'closet blonde' themselves.

So many people go through their "college blonde" phase and their "blonde-curious" stage of development, but we all know it's only a rebellion against their parents. They eventually return to their drab brunette ways, unable to cope with the blonde lifestyle and the disapproval of friends and family.

Blondes take better care of themselves, often looking and dressing better than brunettes. We dress in sexier clothes and wear better makeup than them. I fully support the metro-blonde fad with their blonde tips and highlights, their increased attention to personal hygiene, and their progressive fashion sense. Who wants to look at fat, ugly, dark-haired people anyway? This at least makes them publicly presentable. But that has it's problems, everyone thinks they are closet blondes and not as 'serious' as other dark-haired people.

Blondes define fashion and culture, often being the creators or modelers of the best and newest fashion. We are sought out to pose nude in 'blonde' magazines, which we know almost every dark-haired person has a subscription to and hides from perusal by others. Especially by their non-blonde spouses.

I deeply regret the attitudes of the conservative, religious dark-haired people who think they need to 'cure' blondes with re-education camps where they try to show us how 'unnatural' blondeness is and to brainwash us into accepting the drab, boring dark-haired lifestyle and convince us to abandon our blondeness and 'pass' amongst normal culture by dying our hair dark. Thankfully, we blondes often lack enough brains to wash.

They try to demonstrate that 'blondeness' is only a recent aberration brought about by the development of hair dyes and bleach when any person with a knowledge of history knows that blondes have been here all along.

I personally belong to the very progressive 'Blonde Bimbo' movement, with our increased emphasis on happiness and acceptance of everyone. Unhappy emotions are tiresome and unnecessary and we promote the appreciation of rainbows and butterflies as objects of true beauty.

I applaud early Bimbo pioneers such as Mae West and Marilyn Monroe who bucked the standards of their day and were open, obvious blonde bimbos paving the way for the rest of us to follow in their high-heeled footsteps. Especially Marilyn, who in the highly charged 60s Civil Rights era, made the culturally landmark 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' movie, asserting that blondes have a place in society and that we will no longer be ignored. Her performance of 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend', cemented her place as one of the blonde bimbo icons, expressing what we all hold dear to our hearts - shiny, expensive, pretty things.

It is a shame that she died during that era like many other notable civil rights icons, killed by a society eager to stick with the old ways and fearful of what it would become if bimbos were allowed equality. Perhaps her dying at her peak has set her up as a martyr for the bimbo cause and a pinnacle of acceptance, happiness, and bimboness that many of us can aspire to.

Speaking Of Bad Grammar And My Love Life...

Speaking of bad grammar and my love life, for some reason, Power Source blog is running a poll, "Is Veyron and Tiessa a Item?" First, it should be "Are Tiessa and Veyron an Item?" I have to have top billing, my adoring fans expect no less. And second, the post is Power Source's 69th post, an amusing coincidence.

Now, if she'd only stop following me around and saying, "Wanna fcuk?" all the time...

And I thought she was angry at me for the last one...

The Bad Grammar Of SecondLife Love

They met each other in a cheap, generic mall stuffed full of shops selling the same recycled, four-year old freebies as everywhere else. The freebies were just as ugly as the day they were made, but now they were free, on sale for L$1, and wrapped in a blinking, rotating, particle spewing box labeled "Hot ClothesFor Women!!!!!!" by a newbie merchant, high on the dream of selling one to each of the six million avatars in SecondLife and through the clever ruse of calling it free while charging L$1, he would be rich and able to afford all the sexgen beds he wanted.

"Wanna fcuk?" BigStud34 Hunglo said, looking just like M Linden on his first day, but without pants and sporting a freebie prim cock. The 14-year old, pimply-faced boy behind the avatar's keyboard was already feverishly jerking off and desperately hoped his mom wouldn't walk in and ask him about his unfinished math homework.

"yes stud I horney 4u," 1SexySlut Muffin replied, walking like a duck and still wearing her Linden standard issue purple top and injection-molded hair. The 350 pound, grizzled truck-driver behind the avatar's keyboard put down his chili, cheese dog with everything, wiped his food encrusted hand on the ancient Harley Davidson shirt stretched to the limit that had been used as a napkin too many times in the past, licked his fingers clean as his other hand slid under his mountainous belly, and quickly probed through his hair-covered folds of fat for his cock and thought, "Damn, I am sexy."

They both quickly hopped on the nearest pink and blue pose balls helpfully labeled with "Take Bhind(F)" and "Make luv(M)"; the same freebie sex animations scattered everywhere across the landscape like pink and blue X-rated popcorn. Quickly their avatars moved in jerky, four-framed animations mimicking sex no more accurately than a Ken and Barbie doll pushed together by a giggling ten-year old boy snooping around in his sister's closet. BigStud34 humped 1SexySlut from behind, his ugly prim cock poking out of her back as she jerked beneath him with her face and hands buried beneath the ground.

"you sxy I stick big dick in you," the boy typed with one hand as sweat poured down his peach fuzz covered cheeks that had never been touched by a razor.

"ooo do me fuck di8ck," the truck-driver poked out slowly with one finger as his other hand wiggled the tiny cock that he had happily found nestled between curly-haired walls of flesh pressed together by the fat of fried Oreos eaten long ago.

"cum in u b1tch," the youth raggedly entered on the sticky keys of his World Of Warcraft branded keyboard as he accidentally dribbled cum on his half-finished math homework, hoping he could tell the teacher the stain was dried mayonnaise.

"ooo i cum 2 ... i 4ck ooo ...," the large man entered as he squirted cum onto his steel-toed shit-kicking boots. He slumped back, his sweat-covered, hairy ass making sucking sounds on the cracked vinyl chair as he smiled showing his crooked teeth stained yellow from years of chewing tobacco. Lifting his dirty hat that said "John Deere" and scratching his bald head ringed by long, greasy hair, he thought, "Wow he's good at this, I haven't been this turned on since I saw the elf dance in World of Warcraft."

Spent and not even saying "bye" they both quickly logged out thinking, "I'm in love," and then realized that in their lust for each other they'd forgotten to "Friend" their new, perfect lover.

Anshe Chung Isn't The Only One Attacked By Flying Penises

Is SecondLife imitating RealLife or RealLife imitating SecondLife? Which world was the first to give flight to the penis?

Gary Kasparov, internationally known chess champion who is now a political activist, was giving a press conference when a dildo, equipped with helicopter blades, took flight.

7 Skills Every Man Should Master

Esquire has an article about the "75 Skills Every Man Should Master." They advise men to be able to "Give advice that matters in one sentence" and "Tell if someone is lying." I'm certain they can provide a sure-fire recipe for doing those things in one paragraph in a magazine.

Or how about "Score a baseball game?" Don't they have people that do that for a living? Aren't they the ones guys watch on TV all the time blathering on about scores? Disclaimer: I once knew how to score a baseball game, my father showed me how to do it in the program for the game. I couldn't remember how to do it the next day. Now, if I go to a baseball game, I just oooh and ahhh over the little squiggles the guy draws in the tiny boxes and think, "You can sit on your butt for nine innings and drink beer, next, little do you know it, I am taking you shopping and you can carry my bags for a few hours and work off some of those empty calories. Besides you are getting your daily blowjob later today, what do you have to complain about?"

There are definitely a few I really appreciate:
Not monopolize the conversation - I don't really care what happened in a baseball game that was played twenty years before you were born. I really don't.
Sew a button - I am not your wife or your mother, you go figure out how to sew your own button. Even if I were your wife, I'd still just give you the address to the tailor's and tell you that if you hurry up, they will still be open.
Give a woman an orgasm so that he doesn't have to ask after it - If you have to ask, that wasn't an orgasm that was a sneeze.
Understand quantum physics well enough that he can accept that a quarter might, at some point, pass straight through the table when dropped - And be able to tell me the probability of that occurring. Also, be able to tell me at least one practical use of quantum mechanics - hint: computers.
Feign interest - I'm going to cover quantum physics and the new summer fashions I saw in Cosmo in this conversation and I better not see a yawn. Remember the daily blowjob.
Make a bed - See above under not being wife or mother.
Iron a shirt - wife, mother, yadda.

This one is very wrong:
Hit a jump shot in pool. It's not something you use a lot, but when you hit a jump shot, it marks you as a player and briefly impresses women - That appreciative smile isn't from being impressed with your pool playing it was from checking out the ass on that cute guy who walked by and smiled at me while you were shooting pool and trying to impress me. Hint: He was paying attention to me, you were playing with your balls.

I think they missed a few crucial ones, so here are my seven additions to the list:

7) Pick up the dirty socks off the bedroom floor.
6) Put the cap back on the toothpaste tube.
5) Clean the sink after shaving.
4) Know how to use a mop.
3) Carry shopping bags for more than 20 minutes without whining.
2) Ask for directions before we are late for the event.
1) Cunnilingus

Politician Speaks In Favor Of Nationalsozialismus

Normally, I try to stay away from politics, except in SL, but recently I posted about the lack of history education in this country. I'd like to tell you about another amusing incident in recent politics.

Imagine, if you will, a political candidate who is asked to speak at an event of a different political party than his own. The event commemorates the birthday of one of the most famous members of this other political party. This political candidate frequently speaks out against what he feels are the biggest moral atrocities in modern America, porn and prostitution, and he is asked to speak out on his favorite talking points. Whatever your opinion of his views, this probably sounds like a decent speaking gig, a place to spout his opinions to a different audience and possibly win some converts to his own political campaign from this other party.

Afterwards, the press asks him why he spoke in front of the other political party, he replies, "I'm keeping my promise. I'll speak to any group." When asked if he thought it would hurt his political career, he said he was willing to take that chance. Finally, when asked whether he sympathized with this other political party and their positions, he replied that he didn't know enough about the group to either favor it or oppose it.

Curious, I wonder why he didn't research this other political party before he went to speak in front of them. I know its a bit of a small political party now, but at its peak, it was fairly famous.

And now, as Paul Harvey would say, it's time for the rest of the story...

The political party he was asked to speak in front of was the Nationalist Socialist Workers Party (stop giggling those of you who already get the joke - it gets better :)

For those of you who don't know, the Nationalist Socialist Workers Party it is often known by the abbreviation of its name, Nazi.

When asked about this, the political candidate remarked that he didn't believe the event he attended included people necessarily of the Nazi mindset, pointing out the name isn't Nazi, but Nationalist Socialist Workers Party.

Let's see if this political candidate had enough information at hand to determine what was going on...

First, he was speaking at the anniversary of Adolf Hitler's birthday.
Second, he was standing in front of a big picture of the mass murderer himself.
Third, he was flanked with Nazi flags displaying the swastika.
Fourth, the guys on either side of him we wearing armbands with swastikas.

Look for yourself, do you think you could figure it out?

I don't know about you, but it looks pretty obvious to me. I like how the news article helpfully points out to everyone reading that, "The German leader was responsible for the genocide of millions of Jews and others during World War II." I'm glad they told me that, otherwise I wouldn't have known, I would have went on thinking the German's bombed Pearl Harbor.

Although, he did say in his speech, "...fight America's economic collapse and reinvigorate the white working class."

It sounds like he may telling a small lie when he said he doesn't know enough about them to know if he supports their views or not. But then, we all know Nazi sympathizers are very truthful people.

The original article has a few more bits, but I covered the bulk of them.

Eminent Psychologist Calls Lillie A Whore

It seems that a number of people have taken exception to Lillie's article about men and why they go to prostitutes. It's weird, all of this controversy over an article that basically boils down to "Show appreciation for what he does and don't use sex as a weapon."

I don't know how anyone can argue with that. I wonder if they've even read my assertion that blow jobs are useful relationship preservers? That'd really get them going.

They also seem to have problems with the word "training", probably because it's an ego issue, but we train children, we train people for their jobs, we train each other all the time. This is just raising the awareness that you could also be inadvertently training men to respond in ways we don't want.

Evidently, some psychologist got his nickers in a twist and posted a blog post about it calling Lillie a whore - on his professional blog. Yes, he definitely looks pretty professional after that.

Let's look at his argument's against Lillie's article. His argument against her has many holes, all of them common logical fallacies. A logical fallacy is an argument that commits various fundamental reasoning mistakes.

Perhaps his inability to form a coherent argument is why he is writing on a blog instead of doing meaningful psych research. That kid's is an example of an ad hominem attack or a genetic fallacy, the same sort of fallacy that Dr. Grohol uses when calling Lillie a whore. I called the argument into question, by disparaging the person giving the argument.

Using a disparaging term to call into question your opponent's judgment is a tried and true tactic of people with little behind their own argument. That dear readers was an example of a sweeping generalization, similar to his assertions that her observations must be flawed because of the nature of SecondLife.

If he had anything to his argument, he'd have better proof, that is a moralistic fallacy, stating how things should be and using that to convince people, like he does with his appeal about how men and women should be acting and appreciating each other, thereby she must be false, because as we know people always act out of selflessness and honesty.

Finally, we get to the meat of his argument, a list of papers and research, purportedly backing up what he says. That is an appeal to popularity as well as an appeal to authority. By giving a series of articles that he knows no one is going to go read and refer to, he is giving a false sense of authority. I have no idea what those papers state or if they even exist. He could be making them up or they could already be discredited in the psychology community.

By throwing a bunch of various theories around, he's trying to muddy the waters a bit to show that all of those other ones are more credible, more likely, etc. Rather than addressing the question, he is saying that since those other arguments are possibly true, Lillie must be wrong. That's actually a rather interesting fallacy, sort of a, "We already have enough theories, we're all full up here and don't need any more. There's no room for your argument."

He ends up with more moralistic babbling about how things ought to be.

His entire argument is a false dilemma, though, he is saying, "You can either believe Lillie or you can believe me, and only one of us can be correct". Hold your horses, there are only two options? No "door number three"? No compromise? No synthesis of the two?

Finally, my own argument here is entirely a fallacist's fallacy, I'm stating that his conclusions must be wrong because his argument is wrong. In reality, all I'm really trying to point out is that we have no idea if his assertion is true because he provided no credible evidence to support it.

Try again.

I bet you didn't know I was a Master Debater ;)

The German's Bombed Pearl Harbor?

I don't normally comment on politics or things outside of SL much, but this photo is too wonderful to miss. It's from a free Tibet rally in San Francisco.

Good intentions, poor execution. At least they got the spelling right...

I can see this person leading the protest yelling, "We have to keep fighting for Tibet! Did America stop fighting when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No! No Blood For Yak Butter!"

Reminds me of the protesting philosophers:

"I am Majikthise!" announced the older one.

"And I demand that I am Vroomfondel!" shouted the younger one.

Majikthise turned on Vroomfondel. "It's alright," he explained angrily, "you don't need to demand that."

"Alright!" bawled Vroomfondel banging on an nearby desk. "I am Vroomfondel, and that is not a demand, that is a solid fact! What we demand is solid facts!"

"No we don't!" exclaimed Majikthise in irritation. "That is precisely what we don't demand!"

Scarcely pausing for breath, Vroomfondel shouted, "We don't demand solid facts! What we demand is a total absence of solid facts. I demand that I may or may not be Vroomfondel!"

"But who the devil are you?" exclaimed an outraged Fook.

"We," said Majikthise, "are Philosophers."

"Though we may not be," said Vroomfondel waving a warning finger at the programmers.

"Yes we are," insisted Majikthise. "We are quite definitely here as representatives of the Amalgamated Union of Philosophers, Sages, Luminaries and Other Thinking Persons, and we want this machine off, and we want it off now!"

"What's the problem?" said Lunkwill.

"I'll tell you what the problem is mate," said Majikthise, "demarcation, that's the problem!"

"We demand," yelled Vroomfondel, "that demarcation may or may not be the problem!"

"You just let the machines get on with the adding up," warned Majikthise, "and we'll take care of the eternal verities thank you very much. You want to check your legal position you do mate. Under law the Quest for Ultimate Truth is quite clearly the inalienable prerogative of your working thinkers. Any bloody machine goes and actually finds it and we're straight out of a job aren't we? I mean what's the use of our sitting up half the night arguing that there may or may not be a God if this machine only goes and gives us his bleeding phone number the next morning?"

"That's right!" shouted Vroomfondel, "we demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!"

Suddenly a stentorian voice boomed across the room.

"Might I make an observation at this point?" inquired Deep Thought.

"We'll go on strike!" yelled Vroomfondel.

"That's right!" agreed Majikthise. "You'll have a national Philosopher's strike on your hands!"

Proving Again I Can't Be Serious For Long

I have a great sexy name...

Temptress Incomparably Exchanging Sensual Stimulation and Affection

Get Your Sexy Name

That pretty much sums it up. Thanks BotGirl.

Lesbiazo

Wow, a lot of people clicked on the page link to the Eudeamon post, I bet it's because its such an unusual word that people were curious what it was, perhaps I should title more of my posts with obscure Greek words and see how that drives traffic. Hmmm, I think I already did :)

To explain the word above, lesbiazo, if you guessed it had to do with the Isle of Lesbos, you are correct. However, unlike what you may think, the Ancient Greeks did not associate that Isle with female homoeroticism, but instead with using the lips to induce pleasure during sex, specifically, the act of fellatio. So, that word above, contrary to what you may have first thought, is in fact the Greek word for blowjob.

The Ancient Greeks also referred to blowjobs as "playing the flute", a tradition that I've still heard today. Who said the Greeks only gave us useless things like math, philosophy, medicine, drama, humor, natural science, and engineering - more importantly they gave us crucial slang for sex.

How Not To Run For Governor

As I've mentioned before, I periodically browse my site stats and see if anything interesting turns up. One recent search that led to my blog struck me as funny, "how to campaign for governorship". I pity the poor political hopeful that tries to follow my example of running for governor.
Let's see:
1) Make a political speech based on a twisted version of a famous Shakespeare speech. Check.
2) Make a political speech based on a twisted version of a famous Lincoln speech. Check.
3) Disappear from sight for three months. Check.

I think this person has the governorship of their state in the bag. I bet the electorate is filled with literate Shakespeare lovers from the Union, who love a good laugh and no action.

The Tiessa Brand

Following the example of Linden Lab and Zoe, I've decided to brand myself. I've whipped up a logo based on Linden Lab's new brand, but I think it may send the wrong message....

I don't mind other's using my logo as they see fit, I'm pretty easy... I mean easy going.

Daily Bimbo 4

Like the two bimbos in the following video, I was in the mood to amuse everyone today and tell a couple of blond jokes, unfortunately, like them, I didn't get any of the jokes either and I had to look for someone to explain them to me.

Yes, these two try to tell a bunch of blond jokes, but they keep having to stop and explain them to each other.

It's bad when the subject in the joke is smarter than the teller...
"A blond was going to the airport, saw a sign that said 'airport left', so she turned around and went home. Uh... I don't get it."

Or when the teller thinks the joke makes sense...
"The blond was so stupid she asked for a price check at the dollar store. Uh... I've done that before."

This one is almost transcendent...
"The blond was so stupid she studied for a blood test. Uh... Of course you have to study, otherwise you'll get a needle in your arm."

I Come To Bury Caesar

Linden Labs is inviting all of their Concierge customers to a big "Ides of March" toga party, ostensibly for "Instead of celebrating the Ides of March by killing Caesar, come and hang out with the Concierge team and other concierge customers."

I don't think they read my campaign speech for governor where I reworked, Shakespeare's famous Julius Caesar speech, otherwise they wouldn't let me near Phil with a dagger hidden in my toga.

Friends, Lindens, avatars, lend me your IMs;
I come to skewer Phil, not to praise him.
The bugs that SL inflicts affect us all;
The fixes are oft broken in the updates;
So let it be with Phil. The noble media
Hath told you Phil was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Phil answer'd it.

...

When I do log in, I pledge to you;
Fair avatars and furries all:
My governorship will be beneficent,
The lag and bugs will disappear,
Lindens once again shall fill all hands,
And snoops and puritans shall not peer in
On anything consenting adults will do.
But not while Phil rules the grid.

Five Sentences From Page 123 Book Meme

Lillie Yifu has an interesting book meme on her blog. The rules are fairly straight-forward:

1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

I wasn't tagged, but this is an interesting meme to me, so here goes. Besides, it gives me an opportunity to raise the reading level of my blog.

Find a book of at least 123 pages.
Hmm, "Go Dog Go!", not enough pages, although I wish there was a sequel, it's one of my favorite books. Let's try the next one. "Dick and Jane." Not enough pages, but I have to remember to finish that adventure novel, I had just made it to the good part where Dick and Jane were running and I want to find out where they were running to. Next book (seriously ;)

Post five sentences after sentence five from page 123.
Paradise Lost, by John Milton

Terrestrial Heaven, danced round by other Heavens
That shine, yet bear their bright officious lamps,
Light above light, for thee alone, as seems,
In thee concentring all their precious beams
Of sacred influence! As God in Heaven
Is center, yet extends to all; so thou,
Centring, receivest from all those orbs: in thee,
Not in themselves, all their known virtue appears
Productive in herb, plant, and nobler birth
Of creatures animate with gradual life
Of growth, sense, reason, all summed up in Man.
With what delight could I have walked thee round,
If I could joy in aught, sweet interchange
Of hill, and valley, rivers, woods, and plains,
Now land, now sea and shores with forest crowned,
Rocks, dens, and caves! But I in none of these
Find place or refuge; and the more I see
Pleasures about me, so much more I feel
Torment within me, as from the hateful siege
Of contraries: all good to me becomes
Bane, and in Heaven much worse would be my state.
But neither here seek I, no nor in Heaven
To dwell, unless by mastering Heaven's Supreme;
Nor hope to be myself less miserable
By what I seek, but others to make such
As I, though thereby worse to me redound:
For only in destroying I find ease
To my relentless thoughts; and, him destroyed,
Or won to what may work his utter loss,
For whom all this was made, all this will soon
Follow, as to him linked in weal or woe;
In woe then; that destruction wide may range:
To me shall be the glory sole among
The infernal Powers, in one day to have marred
What he, Almighty styled, six nights and days
Continued making; and who knows how long
Before had been contriving?

Good old John, he loves the run-on sentences. It is not exactly my favorite passage from Paradise Lost. Also, I am reading it online, which made finding page 123 a problem, but I pasted it into a work processor and went with the result.

By the way, "Go Dog Go" is one of my favorite books - I remember it fondly from my childhood; reading it over and over and looking at the pictures.

Name The Eleven Planets

That's easy, Mercury, Venus, Earth, ahhh... Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, ahh... the one with the big ring thingies, the pretty blue one, ahh.... Doc, Sleazy, ahhh... What was the question again?

Can you name the eleven planets? If not, remember this mnemonic created by a fourth grader, "My Very Exciting Magic Carpet Just Sailed Under Nine Palace Elephants."

I always thought one of the Seven Dwarves should be Sleazy, eight old men shacked up with a young girl can't be good.
